Y.M.O. (Yellow Magic Orchestra) is is a Japanese fusion band that formed in the late 70's had discography through the 80's and the 90's. Being very popular in Japan, they undoubtedly influenced many early Japanese video game composers. In a sense, they can be regarded as the grandfathers of video game music. Their sound generally leans towards (but is not limited to) electronica and synth-heavy pop.

There isn't an official appreciation thread made on theshizz yet so perhaps it's not worthy!?
