Year 200X is a(nother) instrumental video game cover band, from Lansing, MI. Their covers are usually metal in style. They pronounce the name "Year Two Thousand Ex." It is, after all, a year. You wouldn't say "It's the year two hundred eight," now would you? But you can pronounce it however you want.

Live Performances

While having played many smaller local shows (one of which was opening for Zombi), Y2KX has played quite a few larger video game conventions and VG-related shows. In the fall of 2006 they played Video Armageddon 2 in State College, PA, which was hosted by local favorites This Place is Haunted. This was followed up in May of '07 with Video Armageddon 3. On August 16, 2008, Year 200X was part of the lineup for the 32-Bit Gen gaming/art convention. They also played 64 Bit Gen and Bit Gen 5.

Year 200X has played MAGFest three times, being on the roster at M5, M7, and M9.
