MAGfest 8 took place from January 1 - 4. It was the third year held at the Hilton Mark Center in Alexandria, VA. It was pretty fucking sweet.

Thanks to Thecreeper, TheShizz had all to itself suite number 424 in its entirety. This room served as home base to many shizzies, as well as pretty much the best party in history.

Fails
Jamspace
Jamspace was pretty lame this year. Poor moderation meant people got to play as long as they wanted while other people waited forever, and equipment was lacking (ie public bass).
Speed Demos Archive
The Speed Demos Archive charity marathon was, for some bullshit reason, moved off campus to the head of SDA's house. Obviously, a good chunk of people who otherwise would have attended were left out of the loop and unable to participate or check it out. Fortunately, however, they were able to raise $10,000 in the end - twice as much as their goal.
Forum bans
Mig50 got drunk and banned a bunch of people's forum accounts from his phone. Which is actually not a fail at all, but rather hilarious.
Snappual Harrasment
At some point during MAGfest, Snappleman was accused of verbal sexual harrassment. Several versions of the story have floated around; Snappleman verified that he made a comment about a woman's "cleavage" while in an elevator with her. The woman then proceeded to do nothing until she saw him again a few hours later to bitch him out and report him to security. He had to hide his badge and lay low as a result, but it was happy end because he wasn't thrown out.
