Explod is a blog used for sharing video game soundtracks. 4 soundtracks are uploaded every other monday evening.

The Explod Manifesto

The purpose of explod is to share classic game soundtracks, with an emphasis on organized mp3 tagging. A lot of soundtracks from elsewhere are tagged with the game's composer as the artist, and this can become a mess when trying to browse through an mp3 library for a certain soundtrack. Some games have multiple composers, and some obscure titles don't have that information readily available. Instead of having dozens of composer and game developer names to dig through, the mp3 tagging is as follows:

Artist field - "VG Music" (Always)
Album field - Abbreviated System Name, Game Name (eg, "NES - DuckTales")
Comment field - "explod rip" (followed by date of post)
Composer field - Composer(s) names, if available.
Publisher field - Game publisher and/ or developer.

This puts all soundtracks under one easy to browse artist, with games organized by system and title under the album name.

Text files are included to cite the sample source and explain how the tracks were titled. Album artwork is contributed by Audun "Akumu".
