Area 88
Area 88 is the name for the home base in the SNES game U.N. Squadron. The term - or rather, the term's usage in reference to the bands - was first coined by Cetera and Shawn Phase, who both immediately thought of the awesome music of U.N. Squadron upon hearing T-Square for the first time.
Trivia
Area 88 is also the name of the manga that U.N. Squadron was apparently based off of but you can wikipedia that shit if you really care

History among TheShizz
Shizzies are proven to be the most raving fans of these bands outside of Japan.
It first began when Shawn Phase, Kirby Pufocia and Spookmeister C discovered T-Square and conspired together to unleash their newly found gem onto TheShizz for glory. As a result, shizzies around the world thrived in a feeling of bliss upon hearing the amazing sounds of the band. Soon after, Zoast made a thread about Casiopea and everyone danced it off harder than ever.
Somewhere along the way, Chronolever mentioned Y.M.O. once or twice. It should also be noted that Shawn Phase had been a fan of the "triforce of honor" (referring to the bands T-Square, Casiopea, and YMO) for an undetermined amount of time, even having a friend rip the live video from 'Omens Of Love' from youtube for him in case they took it down for posterity, but was worried the time wasnt quite right to bring to light such a wide scope of work immediately.
